How do I know the Raison D’iet is working?

Measurements, Indexes and scales. There are plenty of metrics for you to gauge if the diet is working. A simple bathroom scale is great for daily trends, but it never tells the whole story. On the Raison D’et, you should measure yourself in the following areas before starting, then measure again each week.

Height
Current Weight
Neck
Chest
Abdomen or “Gut” (measure exactly at the belly button level)
Waist (For Men)
Hips (For women)
Thighs
Wrists
Ankles
Biceps

Once you have these measurements, you can check your Body Fat Index, to see how much of your weight is actually “Fat” This number should go down each week. Even if your weight only changes one pound, you could have lost 3 pounds of fat. This is why you have to measure!

Body Fat Percentage: (obtain from http://www.he.net/~zone/prothd2.html)

Pounds of Fat: Multiply your Current weight * BFI (Your BFI Percentage)

Now you know where you are and where you need to be, very important information for making a diet work. You absolutely must record your measurements each week so you know what is happening and where! There is no such thing as target weight loss, so get ready to see things change all over.
