Raison Diet

5 pounds in one week…11 pounds so far!

January 29th, 2006

Well it was tough not to log what was going on throughout the week because I was dropping a pound per day almost everyday. I didn’t do anything different diet wise, things simply seemed to kick into gear in the way I’ve experienced before on low carb diets. Finally! In fact with the weekend I think I got a little turned around because I was closer to dropping 6 pounds but this morning-I have to keep the process pure-the scale said 165.

OK, as I like to point out the scale is just one of many important diet numbers and measurments are the most important metric in this process. People diet because they want to change how they look-simple as that.

So here is the measurement report for this week.

Week 5 Jan 29 2006

Height 5-8
Weight 165.00
Stomach 34.75 down .75 I could feel it shrinking this week-seriously. This is the main reason I am dieting by the way. I want to loose that belly bulge.
Thigh 21.20 same
Chest 41.00 down.5
Bicep 13.00 up .5
Waist 32.75 down .25 seems to be dropping in equal steps with my gut just two inches apart.
Wrist 6.75 up .05
Ankle 8.50 up.25
Neck 15.5 down .25

I made one trip to the gym this week to lift weights. I am a big fan of building muscle to burn weight instead of loosing and looking flabby. You get a better look at the end of the diet and the extra muscle makes you burn calories more efficiently. (So the weight doesn’t jump back up when your diet shifts to allow some carbs.) My body fat percentage is still in the .19 range which is good but I would prefer it drop a bit since I lost 5 pounds so quickly. Based on my other measurements though, I dont see muscle loss occuring as I didn’t loose in key areas like arms and thighs.

As long as I’m making myself over-so to speak

Loosing weight is a good thing when you have a few extra pounds but why stop there? I think the idea should be to sort of get back to your best in all things. For this reason I also started several other things with the diet to enhance the overall (end) results. Like what? Well whiter teeth, that’s always a plus. A little hair color to touch up those grey sideburns of mine and a chemical peel to help my complexion. Yeah, sounds like a lot but over a month it actually isnt much effort at all. Details on each item and progress will follow.
